Captain Taylor was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the Marine Corps on May 21, 1996 and attended Boot Camp aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. Captain Taylor graduated from Boot Camp on August 11, 1996 and obtain the Military Occupational Specialty as a Traffic Management Specialist (3112).
As an enlisted Marine, Captain Taylor was stationed at the following duty stations and commands: Marine Corps Base Okinawa Japan, Camp Lejeune NC, Quantico, VA, Marine Security Guard Battalion (State Department), Quantico, VA, Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, and Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, California. Subsequently, Captain Taylor supported and deployed twice in support of Cobra Gold to both Thailand and South Korea. Ultimately as an enlisted Marine, Captain Taylor was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
Upon completion of the Warrant Officer Basic School and Mobility Warrant Officer’s Basic Course, Captain Taylor reported to 2nd Marine Logistics Group, Camp Lejeune, NC. Captain Taylor deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 9-1. Subsequent assignments include: Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, three deployments with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and Marine Corps Forces - South, Doral, Florida.
Captain Taylor is a graduate of Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology.
Captain Taylor’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4nd Award), the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal in lieu of third award, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
